Welcome to my visual communications home page. I am Jack Glascock and an associate professor in the School of Communication at Illinois State University. I teach in the area of visual communication (photography, print and online design, and multimedia).

My research focuses on the content and effects of media. Recent projects include a content analysis of verbal aggression in childrens' TV programming.

I received a doctorate in Mass Media from Michigan State University in 1996. I also have a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. My undergraduate degree is a BBA in economics from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas.

While a graduate student at Michigan State I was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship to study and do research in Canada. Although just across the northern border, Canada was an enlightening experience in a number of ways with universal health care, a ban on handguns and legislation outlawing hate speech -- and of course the use of the word "eh" after almost every sentence :)
